Word - recovering damaged/lost files due to system crash - reboot the Word disk or boot from another disk and insert the Word disk in the other drive.  You should see a file named "MW0000" (or a file that starts with MW).  Use any utility that can modify a "files Type attribute (Fedit, ResEdit, MacTools, etc..), change the files Type from WTMP to WDBM.  Then change the name of the file to something other than "MW0000" and Word might be able to recover it.
